These Terms are an agreement between you and Omevi, LLC (“Currents,” “we,” “us”) and govern your use of the Currents apps for iPhone and Android and currents.love (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, please don't use Currents.
The short version: be kind, post only what you have the right to post, respect other people's privacy, and don't abuse the Service. You own your content; you give us permission to show it to the people you choose. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users.
1.Eligibility and your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or older if the law where you live requires it), and old enough to form a binding contract where you live (or have a parent or guardian's consent).
- Give accurate information, keep your password secure, and tell us if you think your account has been compromised.
- You're responsible for activity on your account. One person per personal account; Creator Profiles may have multiple members.
- Don't impersonate anyone or create a Creator Profile that misleads people about who is behind it.
2.Your content
You own the photos, video, audio, writing, recipes and other content you post (“Your Content”). To run the Service, you grant Currents a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, resize, transcode and display Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service and to show it to the audience you choose. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies others have legitimately saved or shared with you, or that we must retain by law.
You're responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the rights to post it. Imported recipes link back to their original source; recipe ingredient lists and steps are facts, but photos and descriptive writing belong to their creators — respect them. Only upload music, audio and video you created or have the rights to share.
When you edit a published Studio post, earlier versions may remain visible to its audience as edit history. Content you post on behalf of a Creator Profile can be seen and managed by its other members. If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
3.Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users
Currents has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behavior. You may not post or send content that is illegal, sexually explicit involving minors, harassing, hateful, threatening, violent, encourages self-harm, deliberately deceptive, or that infringes someone else's rights. See the Community Guidelines for details.
- Abusive content and profiles can be reported, and any user can be blocked or muted.
- Our moderators review reports within 24 hours.
- We remove violating content and may warn, suspend or permanently remove the accounts responsible, and we report child sexual exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and law enforcement.
We aren't obligated to monitor content, and we may remove or restrict any content or account at our discretion to protect users or comply with the law. If you think we made a mistake, email support@currents.love and we'll take another look.
4.Acceptable use
- Don't scrape, crawl or bulk-collect data from Currents, or use it to build an advertising or data-broker profile of anyone.
- Don't attempt to bypass privacy settings, access accounts or data that aren't yours, or probe, disrupt or overload our systems.
- Don't use Currents to send spam, run scams, or distribute malware.
- Don't use automated means to create accounts or content without our written permission.
- Don't use the Find Friends or contacts features to collect information about people, or upload contacts you don't have the right to use.
- Respect the households, grocery lists and conversations you're invited into — they belong to everyone in them.
5.Third-party content and links
Currents shows headlines and summaries from news publishers you follow and links to recipe sources. That content belongs to its owners; opening it takes you to their site and their terms apply. We don't endorse and aren't responsible for third-party content.
Some features use automated tools, including AI, to suggest things like recipe tags or to read a recipe from a web page you import. These suggestions can be wrong — check them, especially for allergens and dietary needs.
6.Copyright complaints
We respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. If you believe content on Currents infringes your copyright, email our designated agent at support@currents.love with: your physical or electronic signature and contact details; a description of the work; the link or location of the infringing content; a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address with your signature and contact details, the removed content and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal courts for your address (or, outside the U.S., any judicial district where we may be found). We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.
7.Our service
Currents and its software, design, logos and wordmark are owned by us and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms. Currents is free today; if we ever introduce paid features, we'll show you the price and terms before you buy.
We're always improving Currents and may add, change or remove features. If we discontinue the Service, we'll give reasonable notice and a way to export your content where practical.
8.Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, create risk or legal exposure for us or others, or have been inactive for an extended period — with notice where reasonable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (such as ownership, disclaimers and limits of liability) will survive.
9.Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Currents disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that content (including recipes, nutrition or news) is accurate. Use your own judgment — for example around food allergies and cooking safety.
10.Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Currents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
11.Indemnity
If you use the Service in violation of these Terms or the law and that results in a claim against Currents, you agree to defend and indemnify us against that claim to the extent permitted by law.
12.Apple App Store terms
If you use Currents on iPhone, these Terms are between you and Currents, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, isn't responsible for any claims relating to the app, and is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them against you. Your use must also comply with Apple's Usage Rules.
13.Google Play terms
If you download Currents from Google Play, these Terms are between you and Currents, not Google, and Google's Play Terms of Service also apply to your use of Google Play. If these Terms conflict with Google Play's terms for your relationship with Google, Google Play's terms control as to Google.
14.Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, please contact us at support@currents.love so we can try to resolve it informally. Nothing here limits rights you have under the consumer-protection laws of the place where you live.
15.Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use Currents after that means you accept the updated Terms.
