Community Guidelines

Be good to each other

Last updated October 12, 2026

Currents is for the people you love and the life you're actually living. These guidelines apply to everything on Currents — posts, comments, messages, profiles, Creator Profiles, recipes, grocery lists and dreams you share.

1.The spirit of Currents

  • Post what's real. Moments are for your actual day; Studio is for your actual work.
  • Respect other people's audiences. Don't reshare something posted to friends or family where it wasn't meant to go.
  • Disagree kindly. Critique ideas, not people.
  • Credit creators. When you import or adapt a recipe, keep the source credit.

2.Not allowed

  • Harassment or bullying — targeting, threatening, shaming or repeatedly contacting someone who doesn't want it.
  • Hate speech or discrimination — attacking people for race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, disability or serious disease.
  • Violence or threats — threatening, glorifying or inciting violence.
  • Sexual or explicit content — nudity or sexual content of any kind, and absolutely nothing that sexualizes minors (reported to authorities).
  • Self-harm — content that promotes or instructs self-harm or suicide. If you're struggling, please reach out: call or text 988 in the U.S.
  • Spam, scams and fake engagement — including impersonation and misleading Creator Profiles.
  • Misinformation that could cause real-world harm.
  • Private information — posting someone else's contact details, address or private messages without consent.
  • Illegal activity and content you don't have the rights to share.

3.Reporting

Every post, comment, message and profile has a Report option. Choose the reason that fits best:

  • Spam or scam
  • Harassment or bullying
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Violence or threats
  • Sexual or explicit content
  • Self-harm or suicide
  • Child safety
  • Impersonation
  • Sharing private information
  • Copyright or intellectual property
  • Misinformation
  • Other

Reports are confidential — the person you report is never told who reported them.

4.What happens next

Our moderators review reports within 24 hours. We remove content that breaks these guidelines and, depending on severity and history, warn the user, suspend them, or permanently remove their account. Severe violations — like content that endangers children — result in immediate removal and a report to the appropriate authorities.

5.Your tools

  • Block — neither of you will see each other's posts, comments or messages, and they can't message you. They won't be notified.
  • Mute — hide all posts, or just Moments or Studio posts, from someone. Mutes are private.
  • Audience controls — choose who sees every post and, for Moments, every section.
  • Leave — leave any group chat, household or shared grocery list at any time.
